IMM – The Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes

The Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes (iMM) is a Portuguese biomedical research institute performing basic, translational and clinical research, with the mission to improve human health through the study of disease mechanisms and the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic solutions. The translational and clinical potential of iMM discoveries is further strengthened through the Academic Medical Centre of Lisbon (CAML), a privileged strategic partnership between the iMM, the University of Lisbon Medical School and the largest national hospital – Santa Maria Hospital.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemics, iMM has been at the forefront of national initiatives, namely in the areas of: Biobanking, Diagnostics and Antiviral activity testing.
